The annual Blue-White spring football game will bring tens of thousands of people to Beaver Stadium on Saturday, April 13. Penn State students say they are ready to enjoy one last football game this year, and the festivities that come with it.
Blue-White weekend is centered around Penn State’s annual spring football game. The game kicks off at 2 p.m. and some fans say they are looking forward to tailgating again as much as they are the game.
"I’m really excited, it’s a great time to get out with friends, go out, have a little tailgate with some nice weather, and then get to enjoy a little bit of football as well," said Penn State student Joseph Rinaldi.
The university will host a ‘Beaver Stadium Block Party’ outside of Beaver Stadium on Curtin Rd. from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday. According to Penn State, there will be rides, a Ferris wheel, live music, carnival games, and more. There will also be a pep rally for the team starting at 11:40 a.m.
Penn State says that the normal game day traffic pattern will be followed and one-way traffic patterns will begin at 11:30 a.m.
They also remind everyone to use the blue recycling bags and clear trash bags that are located throughout the parking lots to clean up after a tailgate.
One senior at Penn State says he is looking forward to enjoying his last football game as a student.
“It's definitely important, you know we got finals coming up so it’s a stressful time, and so getting away from that, getting to enjoy some football, what more could you ask for at a time like this," said Stephen Buzinkai.
While many people will be coming for the football game, the university says it’s a perfect time to check out what Penn State athletics has to offer, with five additional Penn State teams hosting games throughout the weekend.
